The Citizens Foundation (TCF) – Fundraising Volunteer, May 2023

Raised AED 11,753 (USD 3000+) from 37 donations supporting the education of 23 children for 1 year at The Citizen Foundation schools.

TCF is a professionally managed non-profit organization set up in 1995 by a group of citizens who want to bring about positive social change through education. Today, TCF has over 280,000 children enrolled in its 1,833 schools built to cater to the most deprived communities in Pakistan.

As a Dubai-based, Pakistani student of Year 12, not only do I believe in the power of learning, I feel privileged to have had access to quality education all my life. Therefore, I started this fundraising campaign to help vulnerable children in Pakistan go to school. This campaign was dedicated to the loving memory of my beloved late grandfather, Amjad Rashid Minhas. My grandfather was not only an educator himself, but also was the grandson of Munshi Mahboob Alam who authored around fifty books and launched ten newspapers and magazines during his life including the daily newspaper Paisa Akhbar, back in the late 19th century.
